Gwdy Hw


Gwdy Hw (pronounced Goody Hoo) is a chic treehouse set in a wooded valley, deep in the Welsh Mountains. Perched 30ft from the ground at the top of a dramatic spiral staircase, it sleeps up to four people and has self-catering facilities, a cosy wood burner and a piping hot spring water shower. Best of all, it’s surrounded by beautiful walking trails through mountains and woodland.

The Hatch Cabin


This colourful, six-bed cabin sits in the grounds of what was an ancient farm – now home to your hosts, Ben and Nada. Decorated in a relaxed, homely style, the cabin feels very private, with its own kitchen and views over a beautiful little garden. The main house is an artistic hub, with all manner of creative courses to join and fantastic gigs taking place on a regular basis.

This fully-equipped safari tent is one of five at Secret Meadows – a wildlife haven in rural Suffolk. Yarlington Yurt


Set in the beautiful grounds of Yarlington House, Yarlington Yurt has a king-sized double bed in the main yurt and two single beds in a connected pod. It's magnificently eccentric and very cosy, with a wood-burner, hot running water, gas hobs and a canopy strewn with fairy lights. The local farm shops stock a wealth of fresh produce and there’s a fantastic pub just a 15 minute walk away.

De Glottyngham


Nest happily among warm sheepskins and cushions in this geodesic dome, set on a working family farm. Surrounded by wetland, woodland and wildflower meadows, you can join in with life on the farm or just enjoy the peace, pubs and countryside. The dome itself is the cosiest of hideaways, with hand-loomed linen throws, merino fleece bedcovers, a wood burner, and its own kitchen just outside.

These beautifully made tents, or ‘lodges’, based on Longlands Farm on the North Devon coast, are perfect for family adventures, with everything from hiking and biking to surfing on offer. The tents are furnished with a king-sized bed, two singles and a cabin double as well as en-suite showers and a fully-equipped kitchen. There’s also a lovely, on-site ‘honesty shop’ stocked with fabulous, locally-made ingredients.

This traditional shepherd’s hut is set on a working, upland sheep and cattle farm with views of the North Lake fells. Custom built, the hut is filled with feather down duvets and sheepskin rugs for snugness, and local, seasonal produce can be supplied by your hosts. The kitchen and bathroom are just outside, giving an amazing feeling of being in the woods while you cook or soak!

The Woodland Retreat


This homely cabin is one of Canopy & Stars’ wilder retreats. Tucked away in beautiful, wildlife-rich woodland near Bude, it’s small and rustic but has a big double bed and bunks occupying each wall. It has a bell-tent that’s a perfect lounge space – just the thing for reading or napping when the rest of the family are busy cooking for you. There's also a recording studio!

Birch Place


Tucked away in two hundred acres of private woodland, this four-bed yurt with shared kitchen is perfect for a little off-grid living. There are three yurts on site, all made from local wood and decked out with solar fairy lights, wood-burners, and wind-up radios. The area is perfect for woodland walks (look out for the zip wire!) or to try a bit of horse riding.
